Key Information

• Pharmacy First allows your local pharmacist to provide NHS advice and, if needed, prescription treatments for seven common conditions, without you needing to see a GP.
• This service is a fast and convenient way to get care, as you can often walk into a pharmacy and ask for a consultation without an appointment.
• Pharmacists are highly trained medical professionals who follow the same national clinical pathways we use at the surgery to make sure your care is safe and effective.
• A record of your pharmacy consultation is always sent back to us, so your GP medical record is kept fully up-to-date.

What Happens Next?

The next time you or your family have symptoms of one of the following seven conditions, save yourself time and think Pharmacy First. The service covers:

• Sinusitis (for ages 12 and over)
• Sore throat (for ages 5 and over)
• Acute earache (for children aged 1 to 17)
• Infected insect bites (for ages 1 and over)
• Impetigo (for ages 1 and over)
• Shingles (for ages 18 and over)
• Urinary tract infections in women (for ages 16 to 64)
