Your Annual COPD Review
Key Information
- Your Yearly Service: Think of your annual review like a yearly service for your lungs, helping to keep everything running as smoothly as possible.
- Keeping Up with Change: COPD can change over time, so your treatment needs to keep pace.
- The Goal: To help you manage symptoms, prevent flare-ups, and live as well as possible.
What Happens at the Review?
At your appointment, we focus on three key areas:
- 1. The Discussion:
We will talk about how your breathing has been, how COPD is affecting your daily life, and whether you have had any recent flare-ups or chest infections. - 2. The Checks:
Inhaler Technique: Ensuring you are using your inhaler correctly so you receive the full benefit.
Breathlessness Score: Assessing how breathlessness affects your daily activities.
Chest Check: We may listen to your chest as part of your assessment. - 3. The Plan:
We review and update your self-management plan so you know exactly what to do if your symptoms change.
