The 4 Ts: Spotting the Signs of Type 2 Diabetes

Key Information

  • Silent Symptoms: Type 2 diabetes can develop very slowly. Because the signs are not always obvious, it is easy to miss them.
  • The 4 Ts: To help you spot the warning signs, remember “The 4 Ts”:
  • Toilet: Going to the toilet more often than usual, especially needing to get up during the night to pass urine.
  • Thirsty: Feeling thirsty all the time and being unable to quench your thirst, no matter how much you drink.
  • Tired: Feeling much more tired than usual without a clear reason (fatigue).
  • Thinner: Losing weight without trying to.
  • Other Warning Signs:
  • Blurred vision.
  • Cuts and grazes taking longer than usual to heal.
